Getting invited onto this session was an honour. It was a round robin discussion panel with Dr Stephen A. Diamond, Ph.D. The discussion was fascinating and basically the type of discussions and conversations I adore. I love hearing from people who are professionals and educated in their fields and who have an incredible amount of knowledge to share. This discussion was fascinating because it was an attempt to merge the physical psychiatric world with the spiritual world.
I have always felt for some time that there has to be a unity between the spiritual and the physical. We as humans have in a way denied a lot of our spiritual practises, but it is through these flights into spiritualism that progress is made. It is through the dreams of man that the creations of the world are brought to life and created.
There needs to be a balance though. A world without spiritual and exploration into the unknown can results in a banal and bland existence. When one is to spiritual though the opposite occurs and people are often left ungrounded and in dangerous situations unable to actually function in the real world. There needs to be a balance of both for one to function here, while keeping their dreams alive.
What I love about this discussions is it was an opportunity to have a discussion about that. Dr. Diamond gives credit to the spiritual practises from a healing perspective in that ones spiritual practises can be implemented to help them heal. Though his views are very different then those of us who regularly walk with spiritual forces it was still fascinating to follow this bridge and see where it goes. It is through exploring different perspectives and views that we can have a more well rounded and complete view of the world.
I believe that in any spiritual practise one must stay grounded. It is why I do try to stay rooted in some scientific elements when I am explaining my theories. It is something that I find helps people in understanding what I am saying and also helps me to stay rooted in this world and show the unity between the spirit and the mundane.
I believe that the spirit needs science to help explain it, and that magick is science that has not been discovered yet, but I also believe that science is incomplete and that we have to take these flights of fantasy and stay open to dreams and inspirations in order to follow the bread crumbs left for us to make these discoveries. It is through our exploration of the spiritual world and working with the unseen forces that we are inspired with ideas. There is so much of this world that has not been discovered yet, so many mysteries and hidden regions. It is why embracing and exploring the unknown is such a passion of mine.
Thank you so much James for invited me to be on this Round Robin, and without further ado I give you the discussion…
